The Colour of Tears

poetry and prose for the solemn ones

II. Yuugure

hesitation

Sometime 2005, age ~15

Nine times six times I've picked up the phone,
My five fingers curled tightly in wait.
One month, nine weeks,
One day, two hours,
Four minutes and two seconds...
Time is frozen as I hesitate.

About the Poem: Vivian writing about unrequited love yet again? Say it ain't so. Alright, so in 2005 I had a flirtationship with a friend on the Internet, and she shared with me her phone number. Even though it would definitely have been Majorly Suspicious to my parents if I called her, I still debated doing it all the time. This poem, if you write out the numbers, was her phone number at the time (don't worry - I didn't give you the country code, and even if I did, the number is disconnected now. That said, please don't stalk strangers on the Internet!)
